06 Ram front end...
#18
I knew when they changed the Dakota (the think doesnt even look like a truck - I wouldnt even drive one if you gave it to me for free) the handwriting was on the wall for them to f up the Ram - herbs photshop Sport model makes it look a bit better. I usually get a new truck every 4 years so I hope they have it refined by 07 or I hope it grows on me by then
PS- dont like the placement of the Cummins badge or the Ram head on the grill

SURE WISH THEY WOULD PUT THE POWER WAGON CONCEPT TRUCK WITH THE CUMMINS INTO PRODUCTION, DON'T THINK THEY COULD KEEP UP WITH THE PRODUCTION DEMAND THEY WOULD HAVE.
AND THEN IF THEY WOULD TEAM IT UP WITH SERVICE///// WOW !!!!

Like Herb, I actually don't mind the grill. As for the mega cab with a long bed in response to TCR's question, I thought that the mega cab was built on a long bed platform, which is why they don't sell it with a long bed. If true, sort of robbing peter to pay paul.

Yes it is built on a longbox frame and it makes perfect sense. Production capacity is only so much and if you can only offer one version, which would you offer? A crewcab shortbox that's only a few inches longer than the competitions version, yet dwarfs them in interior space; Ford and Chevy sell far more crewcab shortboxes than crewcab longboxes; and, in order to to offer a longbox version, that would require a new, much longer frame (about 9-10 inches longer than Ford) and that would limit the number that they could produce. As it is, they figure on being able to produce about 70,000 MegaCabs and I don't think that's going to be enough. I think we probably won't see a crewcab longbox until the next all-new Ram in '08.

Man... this will be the ugliest truck made next year. It looks like a HD Durango. I won't be buying one. Glad I bought my 05 when I did.

I don't think it looks bad at all. The interior will take more getting used to for me... I trade every couple of years, maybe three. My next truck will be a manual tranny. And it won't have the optional 70mph vibe.
