06' Misaligned IOD # 11 Fuse
Heads up. Had my trailer tow mirror replaced. Long story but a ranch gate late at night destroyed the mirror.
Shortly afterward, up at the ranch (120 miles to the nearest dealer) suddenly the truck's horn went off, key chime alerted, cargo lights lit and other accessories stayed on as if the truck was possessed. No turning any of it off. Mule deer and big horn ran for the canyons.
After 10 minutes of this ruckus short of disconnecting the batteries called tech in Phoenix who diagnosed the loose fuse. Sharp tech got it right on first diagnosis. Reinstalled it and all is well.
Best as I can tell when replacing the mirror dealer removed the IOD Number 11 fuse but when reinserted it was misaligned. Fuse also has a protective cap on it. This fuse shuts off accessories during delivery transport to save the battery. I was told it's installed as part of the dealer prep. It could have happened then I suppose.
By the way my mirror carlessness cost me $450 (miror $398)! Interesting as the option costs about $250 for two mirrors?

You should have seen my face when the parts guy casually said " it's $400 shall I order you one?"
I was expecting about $150. Out where I am black duct tape would probably have been fine.

Are you sure that has anything to do with the fuse??? That sounds like the in-gear alert they now have...So you dont run yourself over....IOD fuse has nothing to do with that
Infact, if the IOD fuse was pulled, none of that stuff will work....

No it was the lose fuse. I was standing next to the truck with it in park and doors closed. Tech told me that if it shorts the circuit it'll often turn everything on and stay on until reset. I had just come up a very rough "road" in 4 x 4 and probably jarred it loose.
I know, the "in gear" noisemaker is bad enough.
