06 Fender Flares

I would like to install some fender flares on my 06 2500 Q/C 4x4 SB. Any recommendation as to make and comments would be appreciated. Also let me know if you have any pictures in the member photos showing the flares.

Mine is an 04.5 truck. Not sure if there are any differences in the 06 fenders or not, particularly on the front. I don't think so.

Anyway, I am running POWER WAGON fender flares bought from the dealer. So far I love them. There are some other good brands out there you can buy aftermarket on Ebay etc. if these are not what you are looking for. Just do a search for Dodge fender flares.

YES! The 2006 fender flares are different. The front fenders on a 2006 will not work for a 2005-.

I have ATS Flares painted TWO-TONE.

But wouldn't the front fenders flares from an 06 power wagon work on the 06 Cummins trucks?

If I was in the market for body color painted flares, I would definately go with the ATS one's like yours. Sharp looking truck.

My truck is the same colors as Pets, I like the idea of painting the flares to match, looks real nice.

When I first got my truck I was going to put flares on to protect the sides a little, then I read on here how some people with flares are finding they dig into the paint where the flares meet the body. I tend to keep my truck a l-o-n-g time and I'm scared rust will start where the the paint's rubbed off from the flares...
... so I guess in my mind jury's still out regarding the benefits of fender flares!

Fender Flairs

This was my approach at having fender flairs. Included them with the boards - - they came from Bremen.

I used Bushwacker. They aren't on my truck yet so I have no photos and I could only use the fronts since I have a Mega Dually but I have seen them and they look great!

I have the Bushwacker OEM 2.5" on mine, nice fit and finnish IMO, I was planning on painting them but after checking them for fit I just decided I liked the way they looked with the black finnish...

FISHERGUY -

No need to worry about the flare rubbing the paint with ATS Flares. They use double-sided 3M tape that goes around the entire perimeter of the flare where the flare restst against the body panel of the truck.

The 3M tape protects the paint. The flare then is secured using body mount screws along the wheel well area.

No scratches
No rubbing off paint

Ask around, the 3M tape is the same stuff the holds your emblems on your truck.

The Bushwackers use 3M tape and a rubber seal, I took one off this week just to take a look, there was some minor rubbing where the seal contacts the body, I cleaned the area using a soft cloth and some warm water, applied a little spray on wax, it looked like new when I was done, I'm gonna pull the other three this wkend and do the same, then again in the spring to get any salt but I'm really not overly worried about it., I was thinking about taking it in and getting the rockers boxlined, maybe I'll get them todo the area under the flares at the same time...hmmm...

Those are all very nice looking flares.
pet05,
My truck also has the 2-tone paint. My truck is black on the top with the silver bottom. Did you have those painted by the flare supplier or a body shop?

B'man, you say your flares have 3-M tape on the back, do you have to replace it every time you take the flares off I guess?

A friend runs a body shop, he did my grill and I'll get him to do the flares if I get them. Guess the factory molded mudflaps will haft go too if I get flares?

I still worry about damage 5 or 10 years down the road though.

My pics are in my gallery, ATS longbed flares, painted by them to match Flame Red.....they are awesome and fit perfectly. I ordered in Jan. but they were still completing tooling, so I didn't get them till May.
