First start with checking the R134a charge. If it is low it will do this.

Update: The fan install has done the trick. A/C is still very cold and on all vents. This mod was worth every penny. I can now turn the wife purple. That's my favorite color anyway...LOL

I almost forgot, the A/C gets cold quick.

Mine is much warmer on the right side but I haven't checked the charge yet. How does the engine fan clutch operate with A/C? Can a switch or stat be added to make it kink in sooner? Craig

The factory fan is controlled by the ECM. Only dodge can change the program and they have not, hence the fix I have done. From 03' to 07' have this issue, they will push freon out and the system will become low. The high side skyrockets in the right condition because the fan is not on due to programming issues. The electrical fan I have installed will fix that problem.

Thanks, I read the thread about upgrading to the 06 condensor and orifice tube but if the fan fixes it, there's no need to open the system. A fan sounds like a better fix anyway. Craig

It is a better fix. I have the new condensor and orifice tube. I pushed out the freon in 1 1/2 years again. I may have to add a little freon once you do the install and get the fan running. The pressures drop that much...

I'm wondering if the bigger orifice tube would be a good idea after installing an electric fan to help get more refrigerant pushed into the evap after the head pressure drops from the fan. Maybe just leave it alone if the head pressure/refrigerant loss problem is fixed. I'll find out when I check the superheat. Craig

Spooler, correct me if I am wrong, but in your description of installation you have the electric fan running all the time when the a/c is on. When the compressor cycles, the fan is stopping too? Have you noticed any ill effects of having the fan run while running down the road at hwy speeds??

No problems running down the road. The fan is also on if the tranny temp is over 165 deg. If the A/C cycles off, the fan shuts off unless the tranny temp is greater the value above. I have the thermostat plugged into that.

Well, mine is a 6 speed so I wouldn't need the temp probe. I wonder if there would be a code thrown if you disconnected the high pressure switch and got a hp switch to screw on in place that would cycle the electric fan. Maybe a HP switch from a front wheel drive car.

The A/C would not work nor would you have any safety features. That switch is the high/low pressure switch.

How is this mod holding up, thinking about doing this to my truck.
The ac takes an hour before it cools the truck on a 90* day.

I noticed this issue last week, maybe 10 degrees warmer on the passenger side. I've been meaning to add an electric fan on the truck since I got it, I even have a 16" fan and AC/thermo relay hanging on the garage wall. If I'm reading the part about the orifice correctly my 2006 should already have the better parts?

I had the blend door issue done under warranty 2 summers ago (a week after I purchased the truck).
