I've run mine as close to empty as I dare, and I only got 27.xx gallons back in the tank.

they are 34 gallon tanks but when on "e" it will take 28 gallons--it's like that so the contaminants in diesel can settle to the botton of the tank and not be picked up-kinda gives you a "reserve" also---i asked the same question on here a while back and that is the answer i was given

is that for the short bed and long bed? Does th pickup go all the way to the bottom of the tanks or is it just the guage calibration?

That is the long WB capacity. The pickup goes close to the bottom but not all the way. Also the pickup is close to the middle of the tank so of the truck is slightly nose up or down when you are running, some fuel will stay in the ends of the tank leaving 4 to 6 gallons unavailable. Just consider it a 28 gallon tank for all intents and purposes. That is just the way it is.<br><br>Fiver Bob, you don't really want me to answer that question, do you? ;D

35 gallons for the 8' bed, 34 for the 6'<br>I have put in 33.8 gallons with the low fuel light on for awhile .<br>Jeff

I have run outta fuel hittin the off ramp to the fuel stop...coasted into the station and filled up...took 31.5 gals...dont try this at home kiddy's Iam a trained pro (at doing stupid things) :
