a\c help
A\c not working so i hooked up the gauges to check pressure. Low side was 15 and high side about 170.
As i started adding refrigerant the high side pressure would climb well over 300 and the low side never made it past 35. Do i have an orifice plugged?
Where is it on these or do they use something else?
TIA

Most of the time it was well below 30 and the high side got as high as 380,temp was 70 degrees. It would blow cool air at best, not helping at all until you was moving. Last time i put refrigerant in it was 45 low side and 250 high side when it was 90 plus.
The high side spiked up several times so i left it alone, just want some cold a\c for summer.
Thanks for your help mikey b

There are several things that can be done to help the A/C performance. One is to bypass the heater core for the summer month. The heater is a constant loop and all it does is heat up the airbox under the dash, even when not in use. I have a writeup somewhere on this website with the parts needed and how to do it.
Also check out Spooler's condenser fan. This is a great addition for better cooling. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d-t245620.html
When checking the pressures it's recommended to bring the idle up to around 1,100-1,200 rpms and have a big fan blowing on the condenser.
