You can remove the actuator, and that is where the block off plates come into play. They cover the holes in the intake where the actuator was. You either need to disable the actuator in place, use the blockoff plates, or install a new intake.
Here is a pic of my blockoff plates and throttle valve delete.

Well unless you have a Cab & Chaisse you don't need the second option. The first will delete just the egr setup like in my pic above. Personnally if you're gonna do an egr delete I'd do the cooler delete too. No point in keeping it, other then it's a little more work to put it back on if you try to get something warranted or inspected.
If you need I can get a pic of the egr cooler deleted.

I now have all the stuff to install it. I bought the delete pipe with the bung but it came with no instructions. It looks pretty easy to install but it looks like there is more sensors/probes then holes I have for the new pipe. Do I disconnect the sensors not used?
I know the first canister (soot filter im guessing) looks to have an O2 sensor which I have a bung for. The second canister (NOX filter im guessing) has another probe that appears to be a temperature probe but Im not real sure what to do with.

never mind the madds website says
* Starting from software revision “V:6.09A D:R12ME” the original exhaust gas temperature thermocouples are no
longer needed! You can simply unplug them and seal the OEM connectors in the wiring harness with electrical
tape.
If you already use thermocouple simulators ( “SIMS” ) you can eventually leave them in place but we HIGHLY
recommend to remove them! We have found a wide variety of problems caused by out of spec / faulty / false
contacts SIMS. Thus it is best to remove them!
* The oxygen sensors are not needed ( can be unplugged ) but if you have an exhaust system that already has the
provision for these probes they can remain plugged in and used.
So I guess i leave the oxygen sensor (canister closest to the front) and remove the nox temp (second canister from the front)

I live in Ontario. If I do the deletes of the egr and dpf, when I go for the emissions test (when required periodically) the truck will fail right? So by getting the smarty j67 will the unit still help the engine and improve the mileage?

In the first instance it may pass cause you would be running code free and the ECM does not "see" anything out of place.
In the second, you could put the Smarty on SW0 and pray the guy doesnt look under the hood or at the exhaust.
Or maybe you have a friend who does the testing and can "help"you through it.
All depends on your situation
Only thing I can tell your for sure is that yes.....
With the Smarty you will get better MPG's and your 6.7 will be much happier and live a longer, more productive life.

I drove the truck for 60+ miles today and noticed that slowly my filter is rising. This doesnt make sense because I removed it. My initial guess is dirt or something is getting into the sensor.
All I did was take the ME program, load it onto the smarty and choose level 1 (fuel mileage). I have not changed any other option and I have no check engine lights.
My mileage is up around 5mpg more and Im very happy but what do I do about this rising 'filter'. Is that the sensor under the truck that tests the difference between the nox and the dpf filter?
