Smarty 6.7ME Smoking on the Highway
Guys I did a dpf delete installed the Smarty Jr and now when I'm on the highway cruising I'm getting black smoke rolling out of the pipe. it even happens in town any ideas what this might be caused by?
I have the egr delete also but haven't done it yet. Would this make any difference to the smoke issue?
Thanks.

Are you sure you have the ME software installed? What power level do you have loaded? The only way I can get mine to smoke is to put it on Performance and lay the hammer down. She will roll coal then but just cruising, there is nothing.
Do you have everything unplugged like the instructions say? Not to be rude, but if the instructions are not followed to a T, there can be issues. Maybe double check everything.
I'm happy to say that I have just over 1 year of deletes with no issues. Way better fuel economy empty and clean oil for 2,000 miles after an oil change. I love that smarty!!!

I better re read the instructions but I though I had followed them very closely.
I have it set on Tow right now but had it on Econo and it did the same thing before too.
The throttle valve I am not to sure about, where would that be?

the throttle valve is the piece that is between the main intake horn and the intake tube. look at the pics smarty has on their site. the TV is the next one up from the bottom. connector is on the back side of the TV.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Did the complete egr delete and I hope this solves the issue.
The shop thinks the egr was sticking and causing the smoking issue.
The throttle valve was a PITA to unplugged and I hope I never have to do that again same as my PASO
I'll keep you posted as soon as I get the stuck bolt fixed and I can take it for a run on the highway. Stupid threads collapsed on the rear plate for the exhaust manifold.

The EGR was the problem. After I deleted the EGR valve, cooler etc it hasn't smoked at all. I recommend getting rid of the egr 100% positive your problem will go away!
