programers

hey guys ive been looking at programers b/c i just have a dpf box now. Ive been looking at the edge attitude cs if anyone has any feedback on please let me know thanks

I just took an Edge Juice/attitude off my truck and was glad to see it go. I have an H&S MiniMaxx now and my truck is a whole different animal. DPF is deleted and EGR system is turned off and I'm code free. You can't do that with an Edge. It just clears the codes at every start up. The engine runs so much better with the H&S too.

do u still got ur stock intercooler? My dpf is deleted and have a k and N cold air intake . i just have a dpf box now and i think its messing my fueling up , can u adjust this with the mini max?

Still have the stock intercooler. Waiting for my Sinister EGR/cooler delete kit to get here so I can get the rest of that junk off the engine.
You can download different tunes for the programmer from the H&S website, but I don't believe you can do your own tweaking on the fueling. I do know that my engine had a stumble when taking off from a standstill, had blue smoke when cold, and just didn't really sound as good when I had the Edge on it, plus the fuel mileage sucked.

MiniMaxx was $950 w/pyro. The only smoke I get now is the initial puff when the engine starts.

Ok, I'll give a plug for Smarty. Its been almost a year for the deletes, no smoke on the 40 or 70 hp tunes except for a puff on the initial startup, no codes, the truck runs like a champ and much cooler egts. Not to mention the cleaner oil. In my opinion, a great product.

I did a lot of reading before I got rid of the Edge, and I don't think you can go wrong with either the H&S product or the Smarty. I went with the H&S mainly because the guages are in the monitor. If I already had guages installed, I would have went with the Smarty. My main objective overall was to delete the emissions garbage and run code free. Both will get that done.

Oh yeah, my EGTs are also way down with the H&S, compared to the Edge.

Did you install it your self or take it to a garage. Also how important is the pyro?

I had it installed, but only because the shop offered me $500 in trade for my Edge. They charged 2 hrs in labor @ $60/hr, so I think I still did better than selling the Edge outright. I see some used on eBay for $300 and not selling.

I like having the pyro for when I tow. I saw 1450 on the Edge when pulling a long grade once. Without the pyro I'd have never known it. The Edge ran a lot hotter than the H&S does. If you're not working the truck hard, you can probably get by without it. I like my gauges. I don't like guessing about whether or not I'm hurting my truck.

I went with a Smarty also.
I love it, no smoke, nice power.
Both H&S and Smarty are great!
