PLEASE READ.. Need A Programmer
As stated...
I want to know if one is better (H/S or Smarty) for low end accel. (towing heavy 10-15k Daily) fuel milage and Smooth accel.
I like the H/S for the heads up display and really don't want to spend the time to find just the right tune. That said I would do it if the outcome was worth the headache of doing it.
Also I have a manual dually now (need to update my profile) I can't stand the delay after every shift from the torque management... If I understood the guy at H/S correctly today the H/S will eliminate that... If true then that removes this ishue, but not sure if this is correct, I know the smarty will...
Thanks for any feed back in advance..

Id love to help ya out but Im back down in South LA, and I dont have my Smarty anymore. Sorry Bud
I have no experience with the H&S but the Smarty I do. I think for yourt application SW3 would be just about perfect. You may want to look at an aftermarket clutch though. I honestly think that the H&S would have a Torque Management setting.
I feel you on the delay with the TM , it sucks big time on my '11.
Can wait for a good tuner and clutch.

If I was still in Marshal I would have been more than happy to lend a hand.
If I remember right there was a member from the Marshal area that had a deleted 6.7
If I recall who it is Ill post up.

Thanks again guys. I'll keep my fingures crossed.
I read that the h/s has stronger engine brake, not sure why but that would be another plus.. Just cant bring myself to pull the trigger on them. Smarty just offers so much and is proven.

I have played with both. h&s has the built in gauges and a couple other cool features BUT have a friend here in town that we put one on and after about 4 months he was having a little issue with the truck not wanting to accelerate past 60mph. he called H&S and they said that the minimaxx was NOT designed to be used when towning at ALL.. SO, i asked him to call them back and show us on their site where it stated that........... after long pause, they couldn't answer (he has not gotten back to me as to what the issue was but I told him to replace fuel filters. only thing he pulls is his bumper pull toy hauler with a couple little dune buggies for the kids and his razor S for himself and the wife).
smarty is sweet. customer service is bar none, hands down the best I have ever dealt with. Bob and Marco have gone WAY out of there way with a couple very minor issues I had with a couple early model 6.7 trucks here locally but we got r dun.
For me when it comes time to do deletes on mine, its going to be a smarty. best all around.
the ONLY downfall on the smarty is not able to change full power levels on the fly but thats not an issue for me cause 99% of the time, I am on a set level anyways (sw3 with my last truck) unless I was pullin hard or on the dyno it never changed

I don't see how you could go wrong with either one. Each of them does something I like better than the other. Smarty has more tunes to choose from. H&S will enable/disable features that the Smarty will not.
I don't like the electronic gages because once you get into stacking or boost foulers they become inaccurate, or just get maxed out. In my opinion regular ole gages are the only way to go.
I like my H&S xrt pro, it is easy to use, I use it for the overdrive tuning which you have no use for. I have never run any of the H&S engine tunes and may never.
I would still have the Smarty over the XRT pro, especially with a manual transmission. Personally I would never bother with any of the units with a display either.

I have not had H&S so I don't have a good read on it.
I went with Smarty and analog gauges. I prefer to have a second set of instruments over and above the computer on the engine to monitor pressures and temps myself.
The S-67 has adjustable torque management, Adjustable timing, Fuel rail Pressure and VGT response. For towing you can have it set for a steep torque rise or not, high boost response or not. Also with the POD (Power on Demand) option, you can have an infinite amount of power levels available and switchable on the fly as long as you have access to the OBD and have the Smarty on your lap. But I don't know of many that do that.
The Smarty will recover a botched ECM from other programmers and has all the newest updates for OEM controls.
All this and I don't get commission..

Thanks for all the input guys/gals
I think I need to call Bob and talk to him a bit.. I'm leaning toward the smarty!!! Which is what I knew was the best on the market until I seen the H/S. I still think H/S has some cool options as stated but I need tried and true. I'll figure something else out for guages.
After much thought and input from y'all I think POD is not of use to me either as I will never need to race or hotrod, Just tow.
ALSO!!! I know I will need a new clutch asap after getting this stuff.
Thanks again and if anyone else has any input or can help with any other info. It will be appreciated
