New (to me) '07 2500 QC 4WD
I have been a 1500 guy for a long time, have a '07 1500 4WD Hemi, not one problem, great truck. My daughter who is in college needed a truck (barrel racing, help with cows on farm, etc..) so I took her car, gave it to another child, she got my truck and now I got a new one.
Found a '07 with less than 35K miles...super, super clean. Always wanted the Cummins and 2500, decided to pull the trigger.
I have been reading this site for a while now and man, do I have a lot to learn about this truck.
Right now I just need to get new tires, the previous owner has some 305 mud grabbers...to much tire for me, thinking of dropping down to more of an all-terrain type, 285's..Thoughts? It is a 17 inch rim.

Welcome to the site. Fill out your signature (User CP at top left of screen, then signature) so we know more about the truck. Sounds like a winner! The stock size on your truck was most likely a 265/70/17. I like this size for towing, gear ratio, and mileage. 285/70/17 look real nice on these trucks also. I ran 315/70/17s for a little on my old 04.5 truck and they altered the gearing too much for my taste. Let us know how you plan to use the truck so we can "steer" you toward the right tire.

Thanks for the info.
Books says 265/70/17, currently I have Pro Comp M/T 305/65/17.
Probably have less than 5K miles on them, look brand new. To much of a mud/off road tire for me. Loud and I am sure not helping my mileage.

Also, the best thing you can do for your truck is get a smarty programmer and do the Cali style deletes. My engine oil stays super clean for 3,000 miles (not joking) and on the highway empty, 550 to 600 miles to a tank is not a problem.

klx650a2 is 100% right.....Do the deletes, with whats done in my sig and smarty on sw5, unloaded I filled up today 599.5 miles on 29.2 gallons of #2=20.5 mpg and the overhead still said 117 till empty.

I decided early on that I would be my own warranty station and did the full deletes on the truck. I am using a Smarty S67 with ME 23software, EGR blocked and a 5" TBE. I now have over 30,000 miles since deleting and I have towed a 5er every camping since I have deleted with no regrets.
The only warranty issue I ever had was with the emission equipment and since I have deleted I have not had any warranty problems.

I thought he said a 07, then it will be a 5.9 no deleats, 07.5 is a 6.7 then I would do the deleats, that will keep her from carboning up. The 285 tire is only 1" larger than stock in diameter and 1/2" wider than a stock tire, I stuck with the stock size tire as I get the best MPG , have fun with the new truck.
