High Pyrometer Temperatures 6.7L

I recently installed IssPro Exhaust Temp Gauge and expected temperature readings of 650 to 750 at about 60 mph. Instead I'm getting closer to 800 to 900 degrees until it drops in to regen mode in which case I'm getting 1200 to 1300 degrees some of the time. Probe is installed on the side of the exhaust manifold at the prefferred location.

If anyone has a similar install on a 6.7, I'd sure like to hear about their experience. Thanks in advance.

I read a couple of post about this on TDR and that sounds about right. I wouldn't worry about it. You know when it is in regen that is for sure.

Welcome to the world of the 6.7. The DPF, regen, EGR and the emission system creates high EGT's, but the 6.7 can handle it.

Get a DPF delete kit and it will be much cooler.

where can i get the delete kit??? i just bought a rolled 6.7 reg cab and i think its going to be a beat out good enough for a long time spent farm truck(dad doesnt know what to do with a farm truck thats less than a year old) but the rear end and exhaust took a pretty good hit. i dont even know what the dpf and all that mess cost but pipe im sure would be much cheaper. its off now with the sensors pulled and runs but the check engine light is on. smokes quite a bit to. anybody have a set of seat covers in tan cloth cause i think the driver of the truck in the seat!!
