HELP! J35 recall questions, truck held hostage at dealership

Hi all,
This is my first post. My dealer is holding my truck hostage and wants me to do updates before repairing my truck.
HELP! My truck is at the dealer for MIL #2262 (turbo boost) & #0409 (EGR) problems.
I currently have TSB 18-013-008 (p/n #62350430AS) that was downloaded in June 2009 due to the above MIL #s and also downloaded the anti bootloader program as well.
I am more than a little wary of another download which killed 2 mpg, made my exhaust brake less powerful and prevented me from modifying my engine/exhaust.
Does anyone know exactly what changes are made to the ECM when the J35 (TSB 18-024-009) recall/reflash is performed?
I've read everything I can find about the J35 recall, yet no one seems to know exactly what modifications are made to the ECM programming.
"It improves power and mileage." "It runs worse and cost fuel economy", are just a couple of things I have read about the recall.
Lastly and most important will I be able to use a Smarty 67me with this recall? I plan to lose the DPF/egr and increase my mileage.

ps.
My dealer tells me
It will void my warranty
if I don't do the J35
Thank You,
Puck '08 2500 4x4 manual

my opinion is if you do the deletes your problems go away, but you also need a programmer like a smarty

Do the J35, make sure everything is good. I assume you still have a warrantee so this should all be covered! Then, for long term sustainability, delete the EGR/DPF stuff, add the programmer, and retain your hardware for future need!!!

Problems will be solved.

Ditto on that. Let them fix it proper. Then delete it. No more issues.

I did my deletes at 10K miles. Have not had the J35 Flash and so far, at 30K Miles, no problems. I keep getting notices to get the Flash done but I don't see a need. I have the Smarty J67ME with the lastest program, BR27ME - released Aug 30 2011.
