First Addon for my truck!

Hey guys! new guy here... first post so be gentle! Been doing a lot of reading and what not... to CAI or not ... delete this delete that.. howto ... smarty this edge that... my head is spinning!

My truck is bone stock! Picked her up the weekend before Memorial Day and have absolutely LOVED driving my new truck!! Especially love the mileage!!! (never had a truck get over about 13mpg) reading today was 14.2 back n forth to work.... only about a 15 minute ride... when i get on the highway for any length of time i hit 16 (this all according to the overhead computer) Old truck was a 04 hemi and i could see my gas gauge move... so even if the overhead computer isnt the most accurate i dont see the fuel needle move so i'm happy!

Anyway I was wondering if any of you guys out there had any advice for my first addon purchase .... funds are a little limited at the moment and i only have about 400 bucks to spend any suggestions???

would definitely love to hear my turbo a little more...

Thanks in advance to anyone who may respond!

Welcome to the DTR!

A CAI would not be a good idea until you have deletes in place.

I personally would get a set of gauges and go from there.

Megacannon will help you with the turbo noise.

I went with a edge insight, smarty jr, dfp delete, egr delete. then later got the egr cooler delete and the shibby throttle delete.

with everything i average about 19.5 mixed driving (hand calced)

Id buy a set of guages. i prefer autometer, but there are other good ones out there as well. Pyro/boost 0-60psi/if auto a tranny guage, if 6speed a fuel pressure guage.... then when you get some more cash, id get a programmer after that, id buy a smarty expecially if your going the delete route..

Chris, whats your take on the theory that adding a cold air intake to a truck with an functioning EGR system would possibly lend to the EGR system being more active to compensate for the colder intake temps?
