Arrow Emission Laws For Each State

Hey DTR just wanted to share with you something I ran across the other day that I thought some would like to know due to the frequent questions about Emissions. This breaks it down to which states do emissions testing and some states it breaks down to which counties. I was lucky because I only have 2 years left in active duty and stationed in WA as of right now and they dont require emissions testing on any vehicle till it reaches 5 years old, so nothing for me till 2013!!!

http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=62776

Enjoy!

Thank ya kind Sir, this link convienced me to do the full deletes knowing that I will be moving to Tennessee when I am done with my contract. I love how they didnt even put Oklahoma on the list because they dont care what you do to your vehicle . Hopefully it helps others make informed decisions as well.

Welll I live in CA and have yet (knock on wood) to be requested to get smog checked. I have a model year (MY) 2007 (.5) and I'm registered until Aug. 2011 at this point... This site states there is no new MY exemption for diesels???

I was reading the California Emissions and it said that diesels are not allowed the same new car rules as the gasoline vehicles and 1998 and up diesels are required to test...which to me kinda sucks for the people living there. Why are diesels treated differently than gas ? Did you purchase your truck new or used?

I got mine brand new and contrary to what I've read and people have said, I have not been required to smog as of this last August when I renewed by registration until Aug 2011. I'm sure it is only a matter of time though. I am prepared to change back and redo when needed.

Thats good stuff that they havent made you smog yet...Im with your thinking tho, it does just seem like a matter of time. On the other hand tho gotta love the easier way of deletes!

Yes, I wanted the easier way to delete and revert so I could go back to stock relatively quickly if I needed for warantee work as well (mainly for smog though). The full deletes are nice and make for a much cleaner look, but the performance end result is not any differnt; that anyone has ever been able to quantify. I like the stock stealth look anyway... I have a restified 71 Blazer with a RamJet 350 I built for the bling.

Now Blake knows why I have such low miles on my Cummins... Darn.

I wonder what property costs in New Mexico? Might have to buy some just to register the Truck there and Snowbird there. No Checks for Diesels, Awesome.... And I can use the heat in the Winter. I can't stand the 'Cold' Rainy Season in the NW. The 'Warm' Rainy Season is OK....

If you could do that, I am sure that probably half of california diesel owners would all get PO Boxes there!

depends on your VIN

CA is doing the smog starting in 2010 and they do not give new diesels the 5-year grace period that gas vehicles get (I heard it is to build a baseline database and eventually they will determine what timeframe is good for new vehicles). You didn't get the notice this year because they split the start year based on your VIN. I don't remember which starts first, but even and odd (last digit) will determine if you start in 2010 or 2011. BTW, my 01 passed fine with my Smarty on 0 (half power) and the stock air box. I did have to explain the fuel pressure gauge hose tapped into the fuel filter cap...

Also, check out this site and look at the list of Products in Progress to see what's already authorized.
