EGTs too high

EGTs too high
hi all,
need suggestions, just installed new mods, and cant realize the benefits. defueling anytime I get into it, ive seen on other posts that 1600 egt is ok for short periods, but worry. will intercooler and water/meth get down to reasonable temps, or is something else needed?? how do the big boys do it?

I dont have any experience with a build as complex as yours. Someday I hope to get to where you are at. It seems as if you have enough air flowing to keep the EGT's down.
I do believe that water meth would keep em down also, but dont take my word for it, let someone else who has more knowledge of this chime in.
You may want to post this up in the 5.9 section as well, someone there may have some insight for you as well.

What i have seen and heard 1600 is not that high for the 6.7 ltr, mine when it was stock would sometimes peg out a 1600 degree guage. I don't even blink at 1600 anymore. I am no expert but several people I know say we need camshafts to really let these trucks breathe. What temps are you seeing on a wot run?

I wouldn't let EGTS stay that high for very long. Even if the engine went to 1600°F on Regen, that was NOT under load. If you noticed during a Regen, if you added any load like a hill with a trailer, the regen would trim back to 1250°F. Heat and Pressure will eat up the engine just like any other version of the CTD. The 6.7 is more delicate due to the bigger bores so I would hesitate to run EGTs over the 13-1400 mark under full load.

I wouldn't push to hard on a 6.7L. The bores are way to close and head gaskets failure will occur and seem common. I wouldn't run egt's that hi. Yes water/methanol will cut your egt's. You just seeing high egt's on intial spool-up or all the time? Turbo 66mm inducer are laggy for a 5.9L. How is the turbo set-up? The S366 will only marginally flow more air than a S364mm, the compressor housing is to restrictive to flow air that typical for a S366mm turbo. A S364 is around 80lbs/min and a S366 is 85lbs. S362 is 70lbs. Of course there are different configurations and newly designed stuff. I've cracked enough 5.9L heads to know not to run mega egt's. I use water/methanol on my 02 truck for about three to four years now.
