Search aound this and other sites as this has been covered over and over..

I do believe most items I have read try to steer you away from K+N.. Then you will read from others that swear they have had them in use for years without any trouble.

I chose not to use them in my diesel but have used them in cars with good results. I am using an AFE dry filter and have had good luck.

You are asking a question that will probably get you both Yes and No answers.

Best of luck with your choice as that is what it will come down to.

Yup

Wash with soap and water, dry, reinstall

I used a K&N drop in once in my 03 for a few weeks until I heard someone mention that the oil residue can be sucked out of the filter and through the system. Sure enough, when I checked at the turbo, I could wipe a oil film off the fins. I will never use a oil filter on a turbo diesel again. My 6.7 is still stock but I will soon be installing a S&B or AFE. I had a AEM Brute Force on my 5.9 and really liked it. I have not found one for the 6.7 yet.

the K&N is good for this obama economy, it keeps mechanics and parts suppliers in work. cummins has had warnings out for two decades now and Chrysler will not warranty a dusted engine from a K&N and all independent lab reports has K&N at the bottom of filtration. a person would have to have dung for brains to use a K&N on a cummins.

Well Carl,...I guess you can put me in the category has having "dung for brains" because I have been using the "K&N Filters" in my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve for the past ten (10) years now! You and others here can read my "signature" for how my 96' is set-up but to give "the other side of the story" I have NEVER experienced ANY issues with these filters Sir!
I do regular oil analysis' as I drag race my truck alot and also use heavy water injection to keep my engine cool. For your informatin, I have NEVER had a oil analysis come back with any alarming levels anywhere! And this is sometimes with the oil having 3,000 miles on it!

Now, with that being said, the oiled "K&N Filters" are NOT considered a good option in the new Dodge/Cummins 6.7 Emissions Engines due to the fact that the oil fouls the sensors in them. But, I wouldn't own one of those anyway!

In my opinion K&N and others are ONLY good for carburetor . Or non turbo diesel motors

K&N oil gets onto MAF sensor on F.I. motors.

Turbo diesel the K&N oil gets on the turbo blades & intercooler.

EDIT chevy SPFI your can use a K&N on cause its like a carb.... EZ to clean
