difference from 6.7 to the 6.7 HO

does anyone know what the difference is between the 6.7 with 650 tq to the 6.7 with 800 tq as in what have they all changed in truck to make this much tq. or did they just reprogram the motor computer.

Black Maxx does it. I'll bet it gets better mileage. . .

They better do something with the transmissions though

That's for sure. They've probably got it programed to "detorque" on shifts. Is that a word? ha ha

There was an excellent article in "Turbo Diesel Register" this quarter that explain the HO 6.7L engine and related changes to the powertrain. Ram made a software change that uses torque management to reduce power in the lower gears. They also are providing a new Harmonic balancer to address NVH issues with this change. Ram also made a minor change to the torque converter related to the higher power increase.

Problem is they void the warranty. Im going to go with the smarty anyway. Just not sure if Ill do the Jr or wait for the Sr.
