Anyone running a BHAF on 2007.5 -2009 6.7L?

I've searched and searched on DTR for a BHAF design for a 6.7L and cant find any results....Can anyone point me in the direction as to doing this setup. I have this setup on my 91 and my 2007 5.9L already, and would find it convenient to do the same on my 6.7L also.

Love how you get 30+ views but no one is able to say a word as to whether it can be done or not

many people have lives and things get done at home first rather than on here.. not many like me can be on most of the day while at work.

to answer your question, a BHAF can be done. you WILL have to make sure the MAP and TEMP sensors are installed.

anything can be done. its about $$ and creativity.

That is true rockcrawler, but i was certain that someone had prob already done it by now since they've been out for 4 years now.....

I think that the stock intake tube is 5" on the 6.7L, I would gut the tube and still make use of the sensors that way, but the BHAF filters are 4" for the 5.9L so I would need a steel piece of something to go from 4"-5" to clamp both the filter and tube together.

I have the BHAF setup on my 5.9L truck and when I put an aftermarket turbo on I had to get a different intake tube because the stock tube wouldn't work anymore so I used an AEM Bruteforce HD tube and I had to buy the whole kit to get it, and today i was farting around so I decided to see if the AEM filter rather than my BHAF filter would whistle more, so I clamped it on and went for a drive and to my surprise it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be. So I put the BHAF filter back on. It was nice to know because I had been thinking of going to a different filter for more whistle and I guess I already got the most out of it.

4" at turbo to 4.5" then 6.5 back to 4.5. i'm working on a six inch right now, just trying to figure the way with least parts.

I have been working on a way to put a good coupler for both sensors together for one of my old Scotty intakes. I am almost there. However, like what old Chris said family stuff is taking priority now that spring is here.
I can tell you that my old [like Chris] Scotty intakes on the 2 gens reduced egt more then the 5.9 3 gens but the results I netted on this truck with a mickey mouse coupler set up with one netted similar egt reductions to the scotty's from the 2 gens. The 5.9 3 gens gave a reduction but not huge like previous so this is good. I am betting that the BHAF will produce some good results too.

I ran my mock up intake for 15K miles and the egt reduction towing was impressive. Another thing I am looking at is the scoop like plastic piece on the mass air flow sensor. I am contemplating making it slightly larger to catch more air and see if that alters throttle response. I know when I put it in facing sideways...the truck fell on its face so it really does effect performance. hint hint.

Some time has passed since your original post. Got that BHAF on there yet?
hey? well? J/K

How bout now? pix?

Just refilled my coffee. Anything built yet?

ok, done messin around eh.

Just make sure your sensors are sealed and secure when you do this.

I am looking at a 4" od piece of aluminum pipe [this is what my UNI filter requires] notched out with a piece of flat to fit the sensors laid in and welded. Drill and tap the holes for the sensors and start testing my scoop idea.

[like Chris] huh? lol

a scoop would be cool. you guys are bad influences on my old feeble brain. Now I want to leave work, go home, lift the bed off the truck, complete my fuel system, fire up the TIG, fab a BHAF with a "scoop" for the MAF, do deletes, install my gauges, install my steering brace, do a tranny filter kit, coolant filter kit, maybe CCV mod (been tinkering with something for a little bit), fab a 30 gallon h2o tank for some injection, get Colo River Ram to get my B&W here (hint hint brother ).

ok, now back to not daydreaming and start writing up all these cars just busting down the door to get in for service
