another EGR delete question

Ive got an '08 manual trans and want to know if the smarty will delete the DPF and EGR. I would like to remove cooler completely and do not want things hanging. So what programmer will alow me to unplug everything involved in the EGR and tuck wires away, or is there such a thing? Any help would be appreciated.

I have DPF and EGR completely removed on my 08 with the Smarty. You need to run the S67ME program to do it.

Quick question - i had my asphalt guy come over today and quickly started talking about the dodge trucks. I have a 2004.5 and he has a 2009 cummins 4x4 automatic short box. He stated he only gets 16 mpg versus his older one that would get 19 mpg. He wants to remove the DPF but said it was over $2K.

I did do some initial search on PDF delete as well as went to H&S website. Looks like they simply do it with a controller, no hardware.

Can someone let me know if the smarty can remove the DPF and EGR and if so, the expected mpg increase if any. If you have the price for the smarty, that would be great or I can go to mads website.

thanks - I hope I do not offend anyone hi jacking this thread - just seemed the people commenting on this was very knowledgable.

Hijacks welcome, just expect return fire....

The Smarty and the H&S do the same thing, its brand preference. As far as I know the DPF delete cant be done without the hardware, cause then your not "deleteing" anything.

Smarty and DPF delete should find an average of about 2-3 mpg increase. The full Smarty is 685, the Jr is 485, both can be purchased from the DTR store.

Ok - so if I understand how it works, the guy should buy a controller, then buy an aftermarket exhaust to "truly" remove the DPF.

Is that true?

Does he then simply plug any of the lines that went it the DPF?

thanks

It all depends on how far he wants to take the deletes. If he wants turbo back deletes then any 04.5 up will work. The sensors that are in the stock exhaust can remain in the stock exhaust when removed. The wiring harness for the said sensors can be sealed off with black tape and secured. If the CAT is not to be removed, DPF delete pipes are available that remove the DPF and NOX filter while the CAT stays in place and it uses the stock muffler and tail pipe also.

The EGR can be completely removed, or bypassed in several varying stages. There are several options that can be had, pending on how stock you want it to look and how quickly one would need to replace parts for any emissions testing, or possible warranty work.

Blake is correct. The solution is the programmer and delete the DPF and EGR. If money and time is an issue then you can go the route I did in CA which is easy to return to stock. All you need is a delete pipe (you can make your own), the programmer and I recommend the Smary and to follow their simple instructions on their site:
