I get 17 mpg with my current setup running 70mph. The best I have ever got with my truck has been 20mpg on stock tires running 60 mph.
I don't know if I wholly agree with the 03's sounding better than the 04.5-07's. The 03's sound pretty good except for at a certain rpm, prolly somewhere 2500+ they have a nasty rice burner sound. The 04.5+ don't have this. Put 5" on them and they sound better IMHO. Especially if you put a bigger turbo on them. Makes a huge difference.
