Question XZT & Commander, Who's running it

I've been looking through all I can find on the different programmers and am thinking of going with the XZT with a commander because I will not be using anything more than the 65 horsepower level 3 setting. Around town I will probably use level 1 and probably level 2 for towing my 4000 # travel trailer.

Who's running this combo and how do you like it and what levels do you guys use? Thanks for any and all replies and help.

RMS

I have the X2 Race box with Commnder and love it! In my opinion, go for more! Once you feel what the 65HP XZT feels like, you'll want to know what the 140HP Race box feels like! LOL

I am running that exact setup and like it. I rarely put the power on unless I want to play, show off, smoke a ricer or pull my big trailer up a big hill fast.

I have seen about .5 MPG imporvement with it set on level 1 with the MAX MILEAGE tune and it will flat get it for a big truck on level 3. I timed my zero to 60 with a stopwatch and was at 8.5. Pretty good for a big truck.

The commander looks great in cab and most people ask how I got it in there since the A-pillar still looks factory and untouched.

Good luck and you will like it.

Thanks,

Jay

Couldn't agree more. I have the exact same set up. You can always turn the X2 Race down when you don't want/need the extra power (though, I can't imagine ever thinking that way myself!!) but you can't turn the XZT up any more. And I do like the Commander. I wasn't sold on its looks but after having it for a while, funtionality is 2nd to none. For the price, you get all your gauges, including Rail and LP pressure all in one easy to use package.

VZdude is right, get the race box. I had the xzt, I sold it and got a race box , if you get race box, you can run it on stock or 3 other levels with the commander. You won't regret it.

Thanks for the reply Jay, I think I will be ordering the XZT and Commander soon, as I have the cash now, but wish I had got more replies to others using that setup, Oh Well!

Same here

My only issue is that I cannot get the commander to accept the latest firmware update. According to Quad I cannot get the two to talk without it.

I have been using the XZT X2 & Commander for quite a while now and really like it for towing our 10k 5th wheel. We just got back yesterday from a week trip and I got 12.5 mpg at 62 mph and never saw EGT's above 1200* on any hill. I run mine on level 2 all the time, towing or empty. I could not be happier with this setup for towing.

I have the XZT & Commander and run it all the time on Level 1, MAX MILEAGE tune, almost never put it on level 3, 65hp, no need to wast fuel. Do yourself a flavor, and order the fuel pressure kit at the same time.

I have the xzt+ and I thought there were only 2 power levels the 1st one is off 2nd is timing and 3rd is timing and fuel and the max hp is 65hp. Are you guys getting something different when running the commander?
