cbrahs This may be a dumb question but about 8 months ago I had a short in the main harness below the steering wheel ...there are 16 wire in this harness. some times when I tilt the steering wheel the truck dies...Could my starting problems possibly be from a bad wire connection there? Just thought of this after reading your replies.

could very well be. check all connections. repair as needed. I picked up a complete column for mine to do the manual trans conversion for $250 (mine is an 07). you might be able to get a newer column out of a 04-05 that has no issues with the harness.

oh & there is no such thing as a dumb question other than one that is not asked

I located one in Phx. and will go there Sat. to get the harness....Once again thank you all for your support...

welcome. was thinking this morning about your situation. if the wire harness has any broken wires when tilted, it cuts the circuit and could be shutting your pump off such as the run/start circuit. just thinkin out loud here. what they charge ya for the column? I got mine complete with wheel minus air bag cause they can't ship an airbag

I was only going to get a pig tail ,the one with 14 wires , the plastic with the black and blue connector that is by the steering wheel. I can get this for $50.00 . The whole harness is $150.00 . I dont know if I could replace this but was thinking of getting it for future electric issues. We are having a good day at work so I think it might be in the budget.Iam leery of replacing the whole thing but splicing into I can do. Even if this doesnt solve the starting issue my truck is still a hazard to dive with loose wires. Have a good day . Chris

Replaced Harness pigtail.. Now no heat because I didnt disconnect batteries at first. Still same problem but codes are now 2509 and 0251 . Was reading other post and got to thinking that when I replaced the Fass filters Ididnt prime the system ...Possibily could air be in sysstem? also when reading I would like to know if there are any detailed pictures or drawing of this motor so I can see what parts people are talking about. Also is it hard to install a Fuel pressure gauge? Thanks Chris

I had the same problem and replaced six injectors. Now it's fine.

3rd guy says he believes its the injector pump. He has a truck there that is the same year that they are going to put a new motor in and he is going to pull the pump off the old motor and put it on and see if this is the answer. Right now I dont have the money for a new pump. Hope this is the answer. Can the old pump be rebuilt? If it is bad. What is a reasonable price to pay for a used pump? Also should I look at other parts off this other truck to get just in case for back up. Once again thankyou all here for the support and patience with my vague questions...Chris

Truck fixed ....Fuel Pressure Sensor....All injectors and injection pump fine...Truck starts faster then when I got it. Thanks to all the help . i hope one day I will be able to contribute back to this site. Chris
