which wire to tap for gauge power?

I am installing the combo boost and pyro gauge and was wondering which wire did you tap into for keyed power? Thanks, Wade

Were you able to pull the panel that holds the lighter out similar to the headlight switch panel or did you access it from the rear?

There is one screw right above the trashbag hook that needs to be removed 6or7mm I forget. After that the dash bezel will snap out giving you access to the cig lighter wire.

I installed the Westach Combo Gauge and tapped into the dimmer switch. If you use the lighter, your light will be on day and night and will not be able to dim it. The wire to use is a orange with a black stripe. There are 2 of them and I think it is the bottom one. You can check it out with a voltmeter. Good luck.

I have the light connected to the dimmer and it is working fine. The power I need is for the gauge itself.

One screw by the bag-hook and the whole panel around the radio/AC/cig lighter comes right off. I tapped in there for power and ground.

Guys, which wire on the back of the cig lighter is the hot one? There is a red one with a stripe and a black wire witha green stripe. I initally tried tapping into the red wire and got nothing from the gauge. Now I tapped into my trailer brake 12v supply, and I get a weird reading on the gauge - it settles to 5psi at idle or when the truck is off.. I can't figure out why it won't go to 0. The ground is solid, on bare metal. I can't figure out if it's my power source that's giving me trouble or I have a bad gauge.

I forgot which wire it is on the lighter but I used a test light to find the positive one.

I'm currently tapped into the trailer brake controller 12v line. Does anyone think this is too much power for the gauge a problem otherwise using this wire? I don't have a test light and unfortunately I'm not very experienced in electrical stuff. Any thoughts appreciated!
