A winch wont fit between the bumper and the coolers. This is why there is no Cummins Power Wagon. As far as mounting the winch to a reciever mount, They are not rated for a winch over 9500lbs. Not to mention that hitch pins are only rated for 10K lbs. If you are going to get a warn winch, I would look at the M12000. Its about 4-500 bucks cheaper and comes with 35 foot more cable. ****** blocks will double the winch capabilities for less that 100 bucks. Just my opinion though, its your money.

Ok, thanks for all of the help guys. I looked at the links I was given for the front receivers- will the front receiver even fit on this trucks due to the coolers down there? It looks like the only option is a 200 pound bumper to hold the 130 pound winch- am I correct?

I have seen guys that have gotten Grill guards that will accept a winch, but I dont know what brand they were. I ordered a new bumper for mine, should be here in June.

You will also need a pully, if you are going to double the cable in order to double tow capacity. I use a 26,000 lb rated strap (lifting strap from crane) and clevices to attach it.

As far as weight, yep there is more up front.

As far as a portable 12K winch. I sure would not like to be the one lugging it around.
If you are thinking a 9K would work then a multimount would work with a smaller winch. I was thinking about going this way with the Warn 9.5 Rc winch, http://warn.com/truck/winches/src/9.0Rc.shtml. It is light and just needs a cable extension to make it real useful (should have one any way). A bit expensive, but could be easily moved from front to rear many times. I would of gone this way if my Jeep did not already have a bumper on it when I bought it.

As far as Hyd vs Elec. that discussion could go on for years, it has. I have both and like them both. Not sure if there is a clear cut favorite.

My favorite new winch accessory is Synth Cable. That stuff is great easy to use, no gloved needed, I use them any way.

My 12K # MileMarker hydrowinch weighed over 100# before I added the custom built reverse-pull roller fairlead and the receiver tube insert... it's probably close to 150# now! I use it on both the aluminum GN and the '05, and no one seems to be around when I need to move it.

It's mandatory in most professional rockcrawling circuits these days. The standard aluminum cables are just too dangerous when they break.

one of many companies making them now. this is the only company I have seen with a version for the 16.5k winch. its expensive, but from using the one on the jeep, its a whole heck of allot easier. I do feel safer as well. That and you save a bunch of weight.

I wouldn't count on the syn line if you spend any of your time in muddy conditions, the dirt gets inbetween the fibers and wears it out quick, it was design for marine use (fishing industry) =ing no mud,...while I agree it is safer than steel cable when it breaks, You must keep it clean...on a side note, I have yet to see a steel cable break when kept in good condition and used for the correct application but I have broken synthetic (amsteel 5/16 on the Jeep, removed and washed every time out) line quite a bit,...Not worth it in my neck of the woods IMHO.
