Will I be happy with a TST Box?
With my current setup in the sig, will i be happy with the TST? I am looking to do power adders later on like a turbo and of course do a little work on fuel delivery and the tranny....but i dont plan on all that for a while. So, will i be happy running the TST on a low level until i get all of that done, or should i look into a diff box for the time being and upgrade to a TST later on? Im looking for good power all around...most of my driving is city not towing...thanks for your input...Jason

I have a similar set up, and similar goals as to yours. I run the TST box currently and run on the 1/0 setting most of the time. It gives the timing and duration without fuel for better power (35hp) and some savings in fuel. I ran on 2/1 once just to see how the trailer towed and man, way more umph than I needed so I kept it on 1/0. I bought it knowing what I was eventually going to do, if that's your goal it's a great box. I love mine.
I did however keep my truck for 20k before adding anything the dealer would void to hopefully work out the bugs (electrical, issues, ect) most of the other wear items like ball joints and all I'll tackle. But that's just me. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck with the TST not throwing codes. I got one and had nothing but trouble with it and took it to TST in Columbus IN. they looked at it for 4 hours and tried different boxes, wiring harnesses etc. and finaly had to return for refund. I have heard a lot of people on here and TDR with the same issues. If you dont mind resetting codes every day and not using air conditioner with the box on then go ahead and get it.

I have had my TST for over a year and 14,000 of the 20,000 miles on truck. The only time I ever set a code was a low fuel rail code and I had run the box on 6/6 with a stock lift pump. I also run my AC all the time.

May be u should of hooked the ground up somewhere else! I remember someone sayin the same thing and they were told to hook the ground behind the dash somewhere and fixed his code problems!

Yes is the answer. I have had my TST R49 for almost a year and 24,000+ miles. It has been stacked, unstacked raced hard and daily driven in town and on the highway. The only problem/issue has been a code P0336 occasionally. This is usually when it is cold and I get into it a little too hard before it is warmed up. The code never affects the performance and I just clear it and go on.

Been running my R49 for a couple of weeks. The AC stays on. Lots of power. Turbo cool down timer. Built in boost limiter set to 35psi on the stock turbo. Never set a code. Everyone I know has had great success with these.

I love mine, had it since the the truck had 20 000 miles on it, now 55 000 miles. Used to through the p0336 code when on fast idle but hasn't in half a year or so.
watch the routing of the injector harness, had on rub through, killed the truck instantly, my own dumb*** fault
Great box, loads of room to grow with,
Whats a/c got to do with a chip?

I haven't had any codes on mine and the A/C works just fine.
I have mine on 6/2 all day long..........that way my right foot controls the power when its needed
Consistant 18-20mpg (depending on how much lead is in my foot)

sounds good..i was thinking that it might have been too much power for my setup right now..the thing that really concerned me was that it made the power later around 12psi...does it still have a decent amount of power down low?? Thanks, Jason

A/C issue
The issue that they are talking about involves the ground wire on the wiring harness. The instructions tell you to ground it on the battery. For some unknown reason this affects the function of the A/C. If you cut and lengthen this wire and ground it out in the framework of the dash it seems to cure the problem for most people.

Someone please explain the effect this has on the A/C. I'm having AC issues that the dealer can't seem to fix. I never thought my TST box could cause this.....
