Will Edge EZ work on the new 600?

I might get a 600 now, and have my EZ still in the box. Should I return the EZ or put it on the 600? Might get the measly 555 if I get a good enough deal though....then, of course, I'd keep the EZ.

to soon to tell. It would probably work, but personally I wouldn't try it without mfg testing at Edge first. I think if I was in your shoes and could return the EZ for full refund I would. then let them test away and buy it again when Edge verifies that it works. who knows, even the connector might be different, knowing DC...

I agree with the comment above. I would return the EZ if you still can. One of the changes in the 600 is supposedly a computer controlled wastegate on on the turbocharger. I would think that Edge would need to reprogram their modules to work properly with this feature. Even if this feature isn't an issue, I would wait for the manufacturer to perform tests before using your brand new rig as a guinea pig.

I am sure it would not work. Like mensioned the waste gate is different. But the biggest thing is that their is now a 3 stage injection event vrs the 2 stage on the current truck. Although the EZ does just increase fuel pressure but I would bet it to be different.

How about this, get a great deal on an 04 because everyone wants the new 600. Put the EZ on it that you already have and you will run circles around the 600's any ways

OK, if I end up with the 600 I'll sell it to ya. If I get the 6spd 555 I'll keep it. I should know by the 16th or 17th what I'll end up with. Thanks.

since I have nothing to loose and its fun to speculate, I'll do so:

I'm thinking that the pressure only box will "work" with the three stage injection event. it will only increase the fuel charge on each of those events. only experimentation will reveal if this is a good idea though - since all three events will be proportionally increased and we don't know yet if that yields acceptable results. My guess is that it would be acceptable but who knows if it is optimum!

good point on the ECM controlled wastegate. we don't know yet what the ECM uses as data input to make decisions. As long as all the requried data is actually measured and not just correlated to engine output and/or fueling, you'll probably be ok. in other words, if they have some cute algorithm involving boost pressure and mass air flow they might be able to detect the upper envelope of the efficiency map. too bad they don't give you a free EGT probe available via OBD-2!

I don't know about the rest of you bombers, but I'm dern thankful I don't have a Cat or an ECM-controlled turbo. bombs away!

Padazz, how do you like that EZ on your SO? I assume its not doing a whole lot for you if your looking to upgrade. I hated my SO as we know the HO was a night and day difference. With the EZ I'm just looking to add some fun to my truck. I can care less about my gas mileage since she only gets driven once a week, if that. I think the 600 will be a beast and way more truck than I would ever need. I did find a EZ for sale from another member on the board so I'm taking advantage of it. Whats your input on the unit. Cheers.

Ton4fun..........I haven't even bothered to install it yet since I'll be getting something new soon anyway...in a 6 spd.
If that falls through I'll install that and the X-Monitor both of which the wife got me for Christmas.

TON4FUN...I just installed the EZ...WOW. Big difference. Has a hit almost like a 2 stroke. I'm still going to get a '04 3500 LB 6SPD 555 so I can use the EZ on it.

Are you gonna do the 4.10s again or the 3.73's for gearing?

Hopefully 3.73. I don't tow that often anyway. I'll take 4.10s though.... I think with that extra gear between 4th and 6th, I won't need it. I'm just going to take something off the lot. The dealer I'm working with has about 60 2500s and 35 3500s so I'm sure I'll find something I like.
I can pull anything on level ground now, it's just some of these mountain roads in Utah that frustrate me with the lack of a gear between 3rd and 4th.

I'll give a full report when I get it though. I'm going to go for 0% interest for 48 months and $500 under invoice -$2000 rebate. I think that's a pretty nice deal.

Let us know how you like that EZ. Took all of 5 minutes to install.
