Will a 13.5 wide tire fit on a 9 inch wide wheel?

I picked up a set of 35x13.5r20 mickey thompson baja tires off a friend and was wondering if they will fit on my 20x9 inch wheels? Or would it be better to have a 10 inch wide wheel? Right now i have 275/60r20's on there that are pretty much brand new so if i need a wider wheel i already have these up for sale ill take better pics of them on the truck if anyone is interested(they are xd hoss wheels 20x9 with toyo open country a/t 275/60r20 tires). thanks

Sounds like it will be fine. Although...depending on the BS and offset on the wheel you will possible need at least a leveling kit, maybe more, to clear all that with out an rubbing.

They will work on a 9 inch rim but it would be better to mount them to a 10 inch. Really, with the 13.50 wide on the 9 inch the tires are going to wear the center out first.

Check what the manufacturer recomends for wheel width. I have pc Xtreme at's on 8.5" wide rims ... and pc says that is ok. They have not worn the center of the tire out first on mine yet ( 30K miles ). Maybe its all the hard corners I take in 4 wheels drifts that keep them wearing evenly

How much tread do you have left after 30K?

No prob. my Brother in law just mounted some 33/15.50/15 on 14" wide wheels. They only called for 10" wich didnt seem right to us either but the tires are no were as wide as they advertise. His tires streached out on those 14" are Still just short 15" and that is section width[sidwalls]. They dont have much of a footprint for a tire suppose to be 15.50 tread width. IMO And by the way the 15.50's would have worked on a 10" wheel like they adv. but prob. perfect on a 12, they were a ***** to get on a 14" had to use the big yellow Cheata tank to get them up on the beads.

I am guessing at 35% more or less. Seems like I will get the 40K promised anyway, and I tend to be hard on my tires. Probably saves some wear driving on snow and ice all winter though.
