Wierd start with 06 sometimes

Hey guys got a ? Took an 06 put bddl with cl on it and put it on the truck. Has guages. Every once and a while after driving for a while and parkings it when starting it back up it takes like 15 secs to fire instead of 2- 3 like should. It only does it when warm from driving but its only 1-2 times every couple days. Any thoughts on what it could be. Its allmost like a hard start with a dieing vp.

Is your 06 a 6 speed? have you had the newest flash???

The 6 speeds (G56) had a intermittent hard start, mine did it all the time until the newest flash and now it has not done it for over a 2 months

Hmmmmm I think you may have just missed the new flash but I'm not sure. you may want to take it in and have it reflashed with the new, Or call the dealer and have them check the records to see if you have the newest version.

OK I looked it up, mine was flashed on or around 10/20/06 and has not hard started since. you may have just missed the new flash.

I think it is a fuel "pressure" issue. You need to check the fuel rail pressure to see if you have an issue.

This site might tell you if you have the latest flash. Need last 8 digits of your VIN

When I was running my BDDL it would crank as long or longer than when I was running stock. I thought it was a common rail charateristic. Since I put the Smarty on, it fires up right away! It doesn't matter what program I am using. The higher the number the better. I put the #9 moderate torque management program on the truck today and I thought it would crank as long as the extreme setting on the BDDL, but no. I don't think the engine turned over twice before it fired up.

I also have an 06 with 6 speed. Has long crank every once and a while with a puff of smoke on start-up. There is a TSB out for this #14-003-06
