Why 2 different NPT sizes for EGT guage

Got my Westach dual guage and I didn't pay attention that they offer a 1/8" and a 1/4" NPT thermocouple. What's the difference? I just want to make sure I got the correct one. I got the 1/8".

There really is no difference just that one is larger then the other. The 1/8 npt is the one I used and it works just fine. Located on the rear exhaust port of the manifold just above the turbo flange.

When I ordered the Westach combo gauge from Geno's I asked about the 1/8" and 1/4" differences. They said the 1/8" is smaller and has a slightly faster reaction time. I really don't think it matters.
