Who's stacking EZ with Juice/Attitude?

Anyone stacking an Edge EZ and Edge Juice/Attitude?? I called Edge just to ask which one is the best to connect to the MAP connector first when stacking. The answer I got was rather was like no answer. "Well, uh try it both ways and see if one works better."...... Myabe I will try and talk to Aaron tomorrow and see if I can get a little more information.

How do you have yours stacked, what settings and do you see any real performance gain??

Thanks

I have my EZ plugged in first. The reasoning when I called them was that the boost in fuel pressure should be first. I don't know if it really matters.

I notice a big difference when running them stacked. Level 5 on the juice and level 3 on the EZ is awesome. Low boost produces smoke like you can't believe but once it spools you better hold on.

When pulling I see fairly high temps in EGT with just the EZ on level 1. If I move the juice from level 0 to 1 or 2 the egt will cool off about 150 degrees. I still can't figure that out. I tried it at the end of a trip so I will have to do more playing around.

And I know.... I still owe you a dyno graph. Been busy.

IF you have the Attitude, I would plug the Juice first then the EZ. This will allow the Juice with Attitude to do its fancy Boost monitoring on an accurate signal....not a fooled boost signal. The boost gauge will still work too!

The attitude gets it's boost number from the data port which is just run through the juice module so no matter how you plugged it in if the signal was getting modified, it would be modified there as well. The EZ for the 3rd gens is just a pressure box anyway.

I'm sorry but maybe I'm not following you.

That is what I was thinking. I will be able to tell, I have Autometer Guages and the Juice Guages including the 2 pyro sensor. I can compare the two and see if they stay the same.

The Edge support tech suggested that the Juice be plugged in first, but then said it might work better the other way.

staarma,

What kind of dyno numbers did you see??
How high did the EGTs go with the 5 & 3 setting stack??

thanks

Sorry I've been too lazy to dyno it. I will get it done though.

The egt went to 1150's stock up a 7% grade at 80 MPH on max levels. When I towed a 4 place sled trailer with 4 quads on it up a 9% it went to 1142 with just the EZ on level 1. When I bumped the juice to level 2 the egt's decreased. Again, I'm not sure why other than maybe it dialed enough timing and boost to make the difference. I never tried max levels of either or both when towing and I'm not sure I will.

I'm going to monkey with it more next time. I might be stuck around the house this weekend though.

I'm assuming that you're talking POST turbo... That's really not that bad though.

No, pre turbo. I drilled the exhaust manifold where 1,2 and 3 meet just before the collector above the turbo just like Edge shows.

Holy COW!!! Why are you even worried about your EGT's then. Your not fueling near enough IMO! The 600 engine can run 1450 all day long. I hit 1500 daily with mine.

Really! I was led to believe that 1250 was the melting point of pistons on these engines. I don't know enough about the 600 and haven't been around any that are burning that hot. It's good to know. I guess I'm on the conservative side then.

How does your dual disk feel compared to stock? After an airbox and muffler elimination, I'm thinking a clutch will be the next mod.

I don't have the Dual Disc yet, right now I'm trying to sell me 1947Con FE single disc, so that I can get the Dual. The Con FE doesn't slip at all, and it drives nice and everything, but isn't going to sledpull at all.

The 600 can run 200deg hotter than the previous Cummins due to coatings in the engine. I accidentally bounced mine off 1750 a few times back when I had the stock turbo! lol Never hurt anything though

BTW: I sent you a PM

The Juice is the coolest running box I have tried on a 4.5. Turn the power up...have the temp and boost limits set and put the foot to the floor. Do not even have to watch the gauges...it really is a fool proof box for those that want something more than budget but less that extreme.

Not a problem, those EGTs are very low. On full WOT I can push the Juice on level 4 to about 1450-1475*. At the track last Sunday I never saw the EGTs over 1300*, I know they must have gotten higher, I just did not see it. I was to busy trying to see the shifts point rpms and speed with the new tc/trans.

Mine gets hotter in stock mode than with the Juice/Attitude in level 1,2 or 3. I could hit 1550* easy with a Dr Performance pressure box.
