Who runs the II PS62/12 or PS62/14?

does anyone know what turbo would be better for what I have in my sig? I was looking at the II silver 62 but I dont want a lot of turbo lag with my auto tranny. so would it be better to go with a sps 62/12 or 62/14 or even a ps 62/12 or 62/14. I just dont know enough about them to know where to start. If there is no need for a silver then I will go with something not as expensive. Any help is appreciated.
with the big 35 tires you have , IMO 62/65/12 would be great for you, very quick on the street, fast spooler & way fun to drive !

thanks desertchecker, I appreciate the input. I just want to make sure it keeps my egts down when I stomp on it wether i have the smarty on 4 or 8 or whatever. As of right now I have been leaning towards the sps62/14. just cuz I know it will keep things cooled off.

I agree the 62/65/14 will stay cooler & the 14 cm will give a little better top end pull, but spool is just a tad slower then the same turbo with a 12cm housing

Desertchecker, I have been talking to a bunch of different people on here lately about this, just trying to get everyones opinion before a buy. so I dont have to go back and do this all over. II makes the ps and the sps, the ps is a 62-65/14 and the sps is a 62-71/14. I am going with one of these turbos I just dont know which one will benefit me the best. could you help me out a little? I know the ps will spool a little faster, and the sps will cool a little better on top, or at least this is what I am getting anyway. I just dont want to be cruising along(70mph) and stomp it and get up around 90 mph and be hittin 1450-1500 egts.

IMO, if you have or get the Beta 4.4 or similar programs, the spoolup will be pretty nice on the 62/71. the 62/65 shouldn't get too hot, but once you get your tranny went through you should have plenty of power to spool that 71 wheel. the 71 will stay a little cooler, i can't push 1250* with my HTT.

Don't make me start second guessing again Rip112! I'm going with the one that costs $1100. I should just let the price alone dictate my choice. I wonder SPS series would make me need a down pipe? I got a quote for the HTT62/65/13ss for about the same as that SPS $1425 bill, that would just put me back to my original plan of the HTTss.
I wonder if the 14mm housing in a PS 62/14 is similar to housing used in an SPS when they use the 71 exhaust wheel? I have read that guys can convert a 62/12 to a 62/14 for a couple/few hundred bucks. I wonder if that goes for turbine wheels also.
That may have been a stupid question, but I am just thinking out loud.
Thanx guys.
Hey Rip, did you add your pressure box yet?

So rip 112, if I was to get the ps 62-65-14 and then got the tranny work done I might be better off with the 62-71-14? Also does anyone know what temps they are running at around 75mph with a 62-65-14?

For all around general purpose and towing, the PS 62 will work really well. If you're a little more performance oriented go with the SPS, and if you're almost all performance oriented, but still feel the need to tow every now and then get the Silver.

No, I've been having a bad month, things just aren't going right. But the truck is running beautifully on 4.4 sw7, i am just amazed what this truck can handle!!!! I will be adding it shortly to see if it will help. i still need to get my gauges in, but the ranch needs new fences, so no time right now between that and my mowing service, which is heating up quickly!!!
Man, I would go for the best price too! With the way everything is, you gotta do what you gotta do. I've never experienced an II turbo, i've read alot of praises, more on the HTT side as far as customer service goes. that's why I bit the bullet. i'm glad I did, I couldn't be any happier as far as that goes.
As for your question, I'm pretty sure they are the same housings.

IMO yes, you will lose a little more low end compared to the 65 wheel, but the mid range and high rpms scream! i would say with your lift and tires you would want some extra mid range, right where that truck is usually woeking the most.
