Who has a Westach fuel pressure guage on a 3rd gen??
I just installed mine today and the needle won't go below 4 psi even when I turn it off. The guage shows right around 6 psi at idle and if I get into it, it drops to about 5.5 psi. Something's definitely wrong and once again Westach has terrible directions.....
The sender has 2 connections, one for ground and the other goes to the guage. The directions say you can connect these either way. The guage has 3 pins on the back for the wire connections. They are numbered #2,#4, and #5. There is a diagram that shows #2 connected to one side of the sender, #5 connected to the other side of the sender and also to ground, and #4 connected to a power source.
In the printed directions it states:
"Connect pin #2 to either sender lead. Connect other lead to the same connection and pin #5 to ground. Connect pin #4 to positive. See illustration." It also says "Connect pin #5 directly to grounding post of the sending unit."
What's confusing me is the line that states "Connect the other lead to the same connection and pin #5 to ground" It almost makes me think it's telling me to connect the second sender lead to pin#2 and then to ground but that's not what the illustration shows.
If I unhook the ground wire from the guage, it jumps up to 20psi and stays there. I tried switching the #2 and #4 wires and that didn't help either. This is probably too confusing without pictures to show what I mean. The troubleshooting section of their instructions are a joke too.. Well, if anyone knows what I'm talking about and can help I'd appreciate it. I may have to call Westach tomorrow.....

Well, I went back outside and tapped on the guage and the more I tapped the further to the left it moved. I did this until it was at 0 and now it works fine. These things definitely don't have much pressure. It goes to 10 before you start the engine and then drops to just over 6 at idle.

I'll take a picture. I couldn't find a decent location for the bullet mount I bought so I stuck it down between the 4x4 shifter mount and the cigarette lighter. It actually fits kind of tight and it looks alright. This may not work for you since yours is a 4x2....
Pics later on today, hopefully.....

MikeyB, I did use the stainless cap from Genos and it installed very easily. The only thing is that the filter does not attach to the cap like it does on the stock plastic unit. The sender attaches directly to the top of the cap and you just have to hook up a couple of wires and it's done. That cap is a good solid heavy piece and just remember to put the O-ring on it before you install it. I'll get a piture of that up soon too. The other pics are in my gallery....
