white plastic air guide
What effect does removing the white plastic air guide have on the intake flow to the turbo? Will it help or hurt performance or help?

??? I have never heard of a white plastice air guide. There is a big black plastic canister I removed on mine for more turbo sound but no performance benefit. The silencer ring is metal and some people remove it for more sound also, still no performance.

I pulled mine out about a month ago. It will come out if you keep working at it. I sprayed a little silicon on mine and it came right out. I have a homemade torque tube on my truck and a drop in AFE PG7 and pulling our trailer on the last trip we took I pulled the filter minder down about 1/3. I may have to look at drilling some holes in the filter housing to get some more air in the motor. Does anyone know if drilling holes in the housing will make the noise level go up?

I drilled the bottom of my airbox out (small hole saw) and seems to have opened it up more than stock, I don't have any scientific proof that it actually helped but I believe that it did increase air flow and noise level .

I took mine out last night. It looks like the air guide blades are angled to help spin the air before it goes into the turbo. Anyone have any data on without vs. with?
