White Knight auxiliary lights

I ordered the White Knight and went to install it over the weekend.

Unfortunately is blocked access to the holes on the hitch where you attach the chains from the trailer. Sent it back today.

FYI for anyone considering this mod.

A dremel tool and few minutes will make the safety chain slots easy to get to. I have had the White Knights installed for good while now. If safety chain ever gets pulled tight for any reason then the White Knights will be dead knights I am sure. I have a new set of lights, wiring harness and relay to install, but the White Knights was a twenty minute install and works good for me so far.

I didn't think about modding it, but I'm not sure it would have made it work or not. The main reason I got it was because it was integrated, so modding it seemed to defeat the purpose.

It's in the mail back to Geno's anyhow...

get a couple brackets from home depot. prime them and shoot some bedliner spray over them (so they will never rust) and then install a set of kc back up lights.

Where do you get the bedliner spray?

You can get cans of rubberized undercoat spray at autoparts stores. I picked up a couple cans from Pep Boys and sprayed the wheel wells of my '89 4Runner after using a sledge hammer to make room for larger meats.

i just added 1/2 heavy duty caribiners for towing to the hitch, just leave them on. hook the safety chains to the caribiners.

if I ever have to rely on the safety chains, the $80 lights are the least of my worries.
