This is the best place to install it, no need to drain tranny. You may lose a pint when installing it.

I went with this one and it leaked and I'd tighten it, it would drip and I'd tighten it again, I put two clamps on each side, and it would drip. I got smart and got the $80 one and no more drips.

1/8" pipe. I was told to use the middle port on the passenger side. Use a "T" fitting so you still have access to the port without removing the sender. Hopefully I'll get mine installed this week. The next time I change the fluid I'll probably get a bulkhead fitting and drill the pan for it to host the sender.

I used the hot line replacement line from Diesel manor. I lost about a quart of fluid. Most probably due to my ten thumbs. The gauge sems to respond quickly to temps and the line does not leak. Bonus.

Guys,

Why do we spend 5,000 on tranny, 1500 on turbos, 500-2000 in electronics, just to complain about an 80.00 part that is an insurance policy for the money you spent. I did the 80.00 unit the day I had my trans done. Never had an issue, very accurate and CLEAN install. Let the truck sit for a day or two and there is no mess. Dang..........
