He is still around, just banned from DTR. You can send him a PM on TDR or use the e-mail address on his web site.
If your buddy is not in a hurry, E-Bay has the best prices when they pop up. Most going for around $250 to $300. He can pick up a BDDL for any year truck if it is a deal and send it in to BullyDog and have it flashed with the program for his year truck free of charge. If he buys a used one he will probably want to send it in for the latest version of the software anyway. No telling how old it will be.
There is one in the DTR classifieds: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...&cat=12&page=2

I'm stuck. Been trying to decide if the BD is right or should I go with the Quadzilla Standard. What is the deal with BD and the Sentry Key system. Is that still an issue.

I have found BullyDog's customer service here recently to be second to none.
It is still an issue in that if you have the gray coded key (versus the black non-coded key), you will get a code that will be there forever. However, the coded key security system still functions as intended. I had a non-coded key made and tested it after using the downloader and the truck would not crank without the coded key.
I think the downloader is an excellent product, works very well, and can be very useful depending on what you want to do, but an in-cab adjustable add on box (like the zilla) would be better for most. Definitely more stealthy for dealer visits. An inquisitive dealer who thinks they have a need to know will always be able to tell the ECM has been flashed.

The method the BDDL makes its power (real timing, real duration, and pressure) makes it a excellent product. As AK Ram said above...the only downfall is that you can't hide it.
However, in my opinion it makes it power in a much "safer" way and should pose less of a threat to certain parts of the fuel system as other fuel boxes. You most llikely will NOT be in the dealer for repair, clearing codes, or other problems...so it won't matter.

Dealers who look hard enough will be able to find anything, downloader or modual. If you load the stock setting before you take it into the dealer, chances are they will never find out the ECM was reprogramed. If they have the right equipment (and most dealers don't because of the high cost) they will be able to see something, but won't know what.
