I really want to stack the TST with my CL but moneys a little tight so i figured id stack the EZ since it was free(well sorta). Eventually ill get the TST though, no chance on loosing the 35's though to much of a pain to change at the track and i actually use them when im in the field...or right now with the 2 1/2 feet of new snow! So for now itll be just this setup...sadly enough.

Personally I wouldnt go with a tst,, and here is why. Yes a tst can build bigger power, but for example,, if you get your truck totally dialed in,, in a couple of weeks you will start to notice you will be losing power, what is happening is that the stock computer starts to learn and adjusts accordingly, this is an anomoly that only seems to happen with the tst.

acook, for you with exactly what you have, you will be low 13's I think,, may even crack the 12's. There are a few things I would do, but it would depend on if you were going to put in better fueling, cp3 and injectors. You have all the basics to do the stuff.

I will be putting in a better cp3 at some point probably before race season, then I will add a dr performance predator with my stuff, I epect to be in the high 11's on #2 . I am not interested to going to a bigger turbo, so that is where I will probably stop, until I go to twins.

Have you repeatedly dyno'd it,, Barry at NADP has, he has run all the boxes. The one thing that I am sure of, is that Barry knows how to make fast. His recipes just plain work, it has taken him years of R&D and many dollars to learn these things. There is a reason why none of his trucks run a tst, and also there is a reason he is building 10 second trucks that only use a real small shot of nitrous and a single turbo. I see the proof in the pudding.

Im not saying that he dosent. Im saying the tst dosent make you loose power. Is this just a "by the seat of your pants feel" Wheres the EVIDENCE that it is the tst thats making you loose power. I gotta see this. Just cause you have a tst andd your truck looses power dosent mean its the "tst reprogramming your computer blah blah blah" Give me some hard core proof. Thats all I want. Then I will say Im wrong.

I have to admit that I have no first hand experience with the TST, I can only go on what Barry is telling me. So I cant really go any further than that on that. I was having supper with Barry just the other night and this very question came up. And he told me about all his testing with the TST, and this is what he told me. He would have a TST on a truck get it all dialed in, running good, then a week later it would be a tenth or 2 slower. So he would go through everything and find that he couldnt get it all back. So he started doing a bunch of dyno testing with it, and sure enough he was losing small amounts of Hp over a period of time. He then did another truck, set it up with the TST, and it did the same exact thing. So he did some more research, and found that the ecm was learning what the TST was doing and making allowances for it.

Now to be honest, I have never even seen a truck with at TST on it, so I dont know the logistics of it, but what Barry was telling me made some sense, even to a dummy like me. I know that his favorite stack (with a few other mods) is the ppe and the dr preformance. He is haveing great luck with that combo. Mike Drevers truck out of Medicine Hat has run 11.3 on #2 and 10.8 on a single shot of nitrous. No TST no Bullydog.

I think theres a lot af stacks that dont use the tst that will run in the 11s, I also think there are a lot with the tst that will. I personally had the tst stacked with the xcelerator hot. I didnt think that stack could be beat. Then doing all this reading about the smarty, I thought i would give it a try instead of the xcelerator. And Im glad I did. No my truck is a lot faster off the line and when im driving 35 mph, on dry roads, will break the tires loose. I couldnt get that out of my excelerator. Im not saying the tst wont do what your saying, im just the kind of guy that likes to look at the hard evidence, not just what works or dosent work on one guys truck. Cause i think everyones truck has a little different personality, and what works for one might not be what works for the next.
