What's the recipe for a reliable & streetable 700 hp

Just wondering, if budget isn't much of an issue say 15k or 20k, what would you guys do to a stock 06 4x4 to get it to 700 hp reliably and and still have good manners for a daily driver. What kind of 0-60 & 1/4 mile times would this truck run?

Look forward to hearing some opinions

Smarty with beta software, with a mp-8 or tst. or both. II or DDP stixs, Stage III cp3 or duals of your flavor, Big single turbo such as a silver bullet 66, or twins. With built trans. That should get you were you want to be.

As far as 1/4 times etc. that all depends on your gearing, tire sizes, weight,
4wd or 2wd, these all come into play here. Fill out your signature and let us know exactly what you have.

as far as the truck goes, its a 2500, QC LB 4x4 and will be running 35" toyo MTs with 3.73 gears. I'm guessing a 0-60 in the low 5s or high 4s & 1/4 in mid 12's...

I'm a diesel n00b so I'm going to probably ask some dumb questions...

I'm guessing that the smarty, mp8 & TST are all different software/boxes and you are recommending stacking 2 of them. Is that good for long term reliability or is it just an easy/cheap way to get power? If i were ever to do this I want to do it right.

I have heard the term CP3 used a lot, but never really quite understood what role it played in the fuel delivery system. Is it the pump that pressurizes the common rail with fuel? Is there any other fueling issues that need to be addressed other then the CP3 & injectors

Is the II you are referring to the Flux II injectors? I'm guessing that DDP stixs are different brand of injectors as well

I really like the idea of twins and have heard the best things about MPI. What 2 turbos would be ideal?

Is there any other supporting mods that would be necessary, such as intercooler, intake manifold & exhaust manifold, or any other things that would need to be addressed

Is a full race trans necessary or will the 48RE work fine with TC, VB, input, output shafts and flexplates?

Lets hear how everyone else would do this if they found 20k laying on the street

Just curious as to what the differences are between the early 06 and late 06 build date trucks? I haven't heard anything about this so I'm ignorant at this point and I don't like being ignorant. TIA

You must get gauges!!! This is the first purchase you should make. Without them you can have a serious meltdown in no time.

I dont think you are gonna get 700hp with any small turbos. you will need an aurora 5k or twins to get 700hp and keep it cool enough to drive.
you would need dual cp3s, injectors and built trans.
along with a strong downloader like a smarty/bddl crazy larry. also a good fuel system and free flowing exhaust. if you are gonna put that kind of money in the truck, like stated above some type of gauges would be good to watch what is going on with your truck

You need analog gauges, 450
Lift pump 1000
5inch exhaust, 450
AFE Twins filter, 100
twin turbos, 5000
dual, cp3's, 3500
Smarty, 700
TST, R49+, 1000
small adjustable pressure box, 300
F1-Flux 2-4 injectors, 1200
F1 Valve springs. 700
2 or 3 stage water injection 700
A1 or ARP headstuds 700
Labor 3300
17,000
Before you make this power you will need a built tranny or twin disc clutch...add $2000 to $6000 for this.

With an 06 you could do it for less but if you have it...do it right. You will not be disappointed with this setup. If you did it all at once with one installer, I'm sure you would save some. Where exactly do you live? Kerry

Some of those prices seem a little high. Is that in Canadian funds? The red prices are what I see that stuff going for new.

...and you don't need analog gauges. Quality digital gauges work just fine.

XtremeDiesel has the kit for $2100 and new pumps for $600. I guess it's more like $2700 for the complete kit.

Yeah, I don't know that I'd trust that place. They always have lower prices than anywhere on everything.

I've spoke with several vendors about them and was told they aren't suppose to be selling below the MAP like they do.
I'd beat there's no backing when purchasing there. One vendor that I know of even pulled their product from them.
A CP3 in no way cost only $600 !
