whats gonna break first?

my buddies dad just gave him his '03 2500 quad cab short bed with 3:73 because he hates the sound of a diesel. the truck has 80,00 miles on it.... he doesnt really know what hes doing at all and says yeah ill put a chip in it and some other stuff. he lifted it 6" with 35x12.50 nitto's, on 20"x8" rims. with everything bone stock -tranny, exhaust, intake etc. he puts a bully dog chip in it. at every line he tries to race somebody. now tell me....whats gonna break 1st?....... i give him 10k miles before tranny gone

Who is it Chet? PM me his name.

Try to get him to come to the truck pull, I'll try to talk some sense into him. Also, point him to this website.

My guess would be who cares??? It's not your truck. He will break something and oh well when he does. You worry about taking care of your truck Anything and everything will break if abused, taking care of it will prolong it's life.

Depends on how hard he is with it. I have 35's and 3.73 gears with the BD Triple dog set on performance at all times for 12,000 miles now with no troubles at all. I might not be as hard on it as him, but I am pretty firm with my right foot, I just like to take it easy when the TC locks up. Now if he runs it in extreme like that I wouldn't give it much time at all. Just my .02 cents.

ACTUALLY, I know this kids whole family, and his parents pay for everything, so it really doesnt matter. His sister had a couple of nice vehicles in high school, then she was given a couple of businesses by her dad when she graduated(also got pregnant her senior year of high school). If anything breaks, his folks will foot the bill. Must be nice

Any of these families looking to adopt a cute little 41 year old. Free fuel and repairs....gotta like that. I've found that there is nothing in life that is free....there is always a price to pay....probably freedom and independent thinking. Can't beat earning your own way. ks
