Whats the deal with 07s?
Ok so Ive been wondering about why some stuff doesnt work on 07s, but others do. For example: Smarty works for them, but TST doesnt. Edge/Juice works, but VA C5 doesnt. BullyDog does. Quad lists it on their website, TS MP8 isnt listed (dont know if it works or not.) So my question is: why are some products compatible with whatever programming changes were done, but others arent? Is it what the chip/programmer actually does, or is it the engineers just got lucky and stumbled onto it? Just wondering, because the two Ive wanted to stack with my Smarty dont work. Ive been contemplating this for a bit, because Im kinda at a standstill waiting right now. Thanks guys.

Most of them have just not updated their websites. If it works on an 06 it should work on an 07. I've already run a TST, Quadzilla, MP8, DS Puck, and DS Predator on my truck. Just about every one caused my truck to occasionally throw one code or another but the truck ran just fine. The TST and MP8 were both on my 03 truck long before the 07s came out...

Their is a small difference between the early 06 truck ones manufactured before 06/06 and the late after 06/06 to 07 5.9L trucks mainly to do with the rail pressure feature.

I know about the cutoff date, but what Im wondering is why some companies have figured out how to get around the software change, and others havent. Is it the way that they go about adding power (TST, VA C5-both not compatible) as compared to a product that works (Smarty-compatible?) I dont know if thats more clear? And does anybody know exactly what the software change was, and why it was made/its purpose? Im ready to start turning this thing up and laying down some serious numbers and times (after the tranny.)
Trucks purpose:never hooked to a trailer, but may try some sled pulling. Its a daily driver, but looking to be able to flip a switch or button at the dyno and lay down about 700hp, maybe even 800; may or may not use nitrous. Thanks for the input guys

It has to do with the 3 injector plugs on the side of the valve cover that control the injectors. I know that companies such as tst, edge juice, VA, use these to take better control of the motor. Some companies only use the map and rail sensor plugs to do all the work and that works fine. Hopefully they will get it figured out soon.
