What's the best TRANSMISSION?
I finally got the go ahead to get a new transmission for my truck! I tow a max of around 9000k and usually tow everyweekend and sometimes during the week! I need a trans that can hold up to a 5" lift and 35" tires and also the banks six gun! My stock trans is givin it up at 34k miles! NEED RESPONSES PLEASE!

With the banks and the tires and that weight, you can just stay stock and should be ok.
It is funny that you are going south with only 34k and that set up. I went 100k with the same set up and when Dave Goerend got my core he said it looked really good! And I tow 10k- not as often as you do but still often enough for long distances too.
That said, I love my Goerend!

Ya where is Shane at? probably beatin on the truck withe the new tranny!!! Zack, you opened up a can of worms on this one. You will find everyone has their choice. Some like the Purple one, some like Goerend, HTS, DTT, Ultimate, and the list goes on. Each one you will find someone to bash it or talk crap. What everyone will want to know is, do you plan on doing anymore power bombs? or stay with your current set up? How much $$ do you have to spend? SHane when 44k miles with a stock tranny with MP8/Smarty stack and twins! and towed heavy everyday and when he was not towing, he hammered on it the rest of the time.

So its pretty much what i choose! No definate answers! I just want to have the best in my truck so i dont regret anything! My truck use to take off quick and fly! Now it takes off good in first but when it shifts to second it falls apart! RPM's skyrocket and the truck just doesn't hardly move!

alllright... His excellence is here...LOl...
I can tell you what made my mine up... I talked with Goerend, and hts four hours and both of them fellas were excellent choices in my book... I went with Ultimate Transmission because he was close... Within a hour and a half away... I didn't have to go out in the cold and pull a tranny or find a shop that wasn't being used so that I could park my truck while the tranny was being built.. then price.... I had a budget (well kinda) then after talking with Dave I blew the budget... but I feel I have a "unbreakable tranny"... Not saying it won't but for what I have invested I couldn't get any where else... Really you need to know where you are going with the truck and what you need.. I for one have to make a living with my truck but I am also tryin to get over 700 hp yet still be able to drive it....

That is what I thought too... When Dave pulled my tranny apart the input shaft was sheered in half... He said it had to be the strongest stock tranny he had ever seen and the cleanest break ever... I will get pics up when I go get the beast!!!
