What's the benefit to drilling holes in the stock air box?
Wouldn't doing this allow more contaminants into the engine and thus cause other problems?
Just a newbie asking some questions.

When you drill holes on the bottom of the airbox, it is pre-filter, so the filter is still doing it's job. It enables more air to get to the filter. Seems to do a pretty good job too...

I drilled mine - see Page 2 in my gallery. I just had the truck to the dealer and the tech remmarked when I picked it up that the airbox was pretty cool idea. Nothing said about voiding anything. Have I noticed a difference - its all relative. Somedays I think it runs better, other days I really dont notice a difference. EGT's are lower but I replaced the muffler with an MBRP at the same time I drilled the airbox), it seems to tow better (mpg) and seems to have better response but like I said it is all relative. Will I go to an after market air filter setup - probably not. I do want to change out the torque tube with something less restrictive. So now you have my 2 cents.
