What to use as a fuel line?

I have a boost pressure guage that i had replaced in the past and was thinking about using it as a fp guage. i would be mounting it in a bullet mount on the outsid eof the truck as it is a mechanical guage and i dont want the fuel in the truck. I was going to get a banjo bolt to get the pressure off the inlet on the cp3. What i know i cant do is use the bost hose that is supplied with the guage. What do you guys think i should use?

the 06 has only 10 psi pressure use a 15 psi gauge. worry of fuel in the cab is bs all of our heavy equipment and large trucks have had factory installed fuel pressure gauges in them. some of the first equipment i bought was older than i was and i now have been in business 43 years we run a fleet of dodges with all kinds of surplus or used gauges for fuel pressure. go to genosgarage.com and get bf-taped for $7.00 bf-396398 gasket for $1.25 mrg-1561 for $19.95 then get a oil pressure gauge kit from any auto parts place for about $7.50 it comes with 6 foot of copper line and all of the fittings needed. think about this the mechanical oil pressure gauge has 6x the pressure running to it than what you have and in the older vehicles have you ever seen oil dripping out of the dash. and for the ones reading that the gauge is a test gauge not to be installed permanently, what would you do if you were trying to sell the same quality gauge on the next page for $250. we bend a piece of scrap aluminum and mount the gauge by the shifter. on the 06 change the filter when the pressure drops to 2 psi under load. the dirtier the filter the better it filters most change the filters before they perform there best

I would use an electric FP gauge and not a boost gauge. If you have to use mechanical gauge use an isolator. Eliminates chances of fuel leaking in the cab.

Correctly installing it is the best way to eliminate the chance of any fuel leak. Those isolators are a waste of money. Mechanical gauge correctly installed is more reliable and accurate.

I do not want to install it in the cab for 2 reasons...one it is a boost guage and there is a chance that the fuel could eat the plastic since it is not designed for a fuel pressure guage. Second is that this is a temp setup so i can monitor now (not when i can afford to do it right, which i will after i fix the pump, if it is the problem, which is what i am trying to verify) because it feels as if my pump is failing and money is tight and i cant afford to buy the ev2 that i want and still have the money to buy the AD. By using an old junk guage that i have that will work even if temporary i can limit my expense to $30 - $40 rather than $200. All i need is a line, mount and a banjo. I just didnt know what i could use as a line that the fuel will not eat, and that is inexpensive. The mention of copper makes me happy because i have some so now all i need it a banjo fitting and a mount.
