what is tone ring?
ive been hearing alot about tone ring mod and was wondering if someone could tell me what it does if you adjust it and how to do it. thanks

u can use the search function on this site, you'll find tons of info. 
basically the tone ring is a degree wheel that is located behind the crankshaft pulley in the front of the motor. it looks like a big sprocket or flywheel. there is also a crankshaft position sensor, (CPS), located on the right side of the engine that reads the location of the tone ring. this is responsible for telling the computer and injector pump when to fire the injector. buy loosening up the bolts on the pulley and rotating the ring you add injector pump timing, thus adding HP and improving mileage alittle.
there is roughly 2.5 degrees of "play" in loosening the bolts and rotating it, some people reem out the dowel pin hole and rotate the ring even further (roughly 4*)
