What tip to help the noise?

I just put the mbrp 4" system in my truck this weekend. It's louder than I was hoping it would be. Stock it only armed 1 alarm and set off one alarm in the parking garage. Now it sets off 3-4 of them. If I had it to do over, I'd have left it the way it was but I had to destroy the original muffler getting it out.. Oh well, I'll have to live with it. would a 90deg tip facing down be any quieter than the straight out exit? At least I can hear the turbo now. Not too loud, just enough to know it's there..

Start adding mufflers would be the best way to reduce noise and maybe a turndown tip would help slightly.

I installed the aero turbine on my truck and forgott to tighten one bracket all the way which caused the muffler to change positions. I seemed to have notice that the further down the muffler was pointed the louded it was inside the truck.

A turndown will probably make it louder. You should look into getting an Aeroturbine and installing it as far forward as possible. This has helped many MBRP customers like their system much better. Wait till you hook a trailer up to that thing now! You haven't heard drone yet!!!

one trick is to make sure you get the tip out from under the truck, my tip in pic gallery sticks out every bit as far as my H2 takeoffs, keeps the sound from getting under the truck and back into the cab.

I was going to say exactly what Mikemaze said. I noticed a big difference when I put my tip on when I was straight piped. It sticks 1-1.5" out past the rocker.

yep, I agree with the other guys, get that tip out as far as you can so it won't drone against the body.

just my 2 cents but i thought that the MBRP muffle has 2 ways you can put it in. one being loud and the other not so loud. the baffles agians the muffle walls are directional so you can pick loud or not so loud. i no this is how it is on my kit, not so sure for the 3 gen trucks.

Yes, and I installed mine the "not as loud way" and it's too loud. I bought a tip and it sticks out well past the body of the truck. If that helped, I can't tell. I was getting use to it in town the last two weeks, so a couple days ago I hooked up my 31" TT and hit the interstate. I drove it for maybe 15 minutes, took it back to storage, and went straight home and ordered an additional muffler that I will be installing in front of the MBRP where the cat was. I certainly hope that does the trick, as I have a 2000 mile camping trip coming up the last week of June.
