I talked with a fello today that knows much more than I about diesels in general and flux injectors in particular and given my situation with plannin on dual pumps anyway and more or less being forced to do something now about my injectors I think I am going to go ahead and do a 2.5ish. Maybe a touch bigger but I dont know yet. If I have to I will just run the mp8 until I can get dual pumps but like you said, I (hopefully) wont have to do it again, that is unless I need to get some 4s or something of that nature.

First thing you'll have to do is loose the Beta 4.4.
I originally ran the 2.5's with with the beta 4.4 and it was pretty smokey and that was with a set of BD towing twins.....The evolution program is a big step up in drivability.

I recommended the 2.5's before I noticed the single....You'll need more air for the 2.5's. Since I've never gone the performance single route you better ask someone else.

There is no magic setup, but you will need a rail pressure gauge and you will need to keep your eye one it.

Thanks for the tips, I will load up the revo once I have the truck torn down and see what I can work out.

And I do have an RP guage, and watch it as much or more than EGTs.
