What should u see for egts empty at 160 km/hour?
i was just wondering is all. my egts are all in check. towing at 60 mph i see 900F and at 60 mph empty i see 590-650 F. what should a guy see accelerating to 160 mph empty and what should u see when cruising along in 4th gear empty at 160-200 km/hour?

If you're doing 160-200 km/h, you should see at least 1000 degrees. It takes power to move these things due to the aerodynamics of a brick. This is all done on a closed course right, no high speed running on public roads?

I don't know why he is worried about EGT's with asking questions for over a year now and recreating posts again and again about the same stuff.
do you actually read what people are saying there sally? read the posts and opinions/suggestions that others make before creating a new thread on the same question.

Downhill with a tail wind and my foot of the pedal...maybe 500...
but then up a 10% grade with 15k in tow...I have had it buried?
Is there something wrong with my truck?
LOL...

I think at 160 Km/h you should be watching the road, not your EGT.
Based on what I do for a living, I meet many people as a result of their excess speed. My other comment, ....ahhh forget it.

Stuff whizzin' by pretty fast ????
My guess would be 1000-1100, or somewhere in that range.
I only pay attention to EGT's closely when I'm towing up grades, other than that, a quick glance and if the needle is in the comfort zone of 1K or less I never look for an exact number.

I think your EGT's are in line where they should be. 6-700 should be right for running empty. I never get to pull loads of 10K, all mine are 16-18K or more up grades of 6% so 1000 to 1200 EGT's are my normals, sometimes higher.

I am pretty sure I do not see anywhere on here where it says 140kph. I see 160-200kph and even a 160 MPH! no where does it say "a buddy said or otherwise"
