What to remove before going to dealer?

I am going to take the truck into dealer to check some stuff before my 35,000 miles hit. So do you guys take off your Commander, box, and both harness? Or do you leave the Commander which I believe plugs into the XZT harness?

some dealers are ignorant to perfromance mods and they would think that ur commander adds power, so I would remove it all if i were you

I would leave it all on there and leave 20$ on the seat for the mechanic.

I was fortunate enough to have a good dealer that liked to see what I did to my truck next.

It may have been that or I always got the guys in the shop pizza at lunch time

there was a thread a while back about someone not having their warranty honored because of his outlook monitor. the dealer's position was that no one gets the monitor without the programmer.

I agree with Chipmonk. Dealers are getting smarter about mods. The next issue is that if you pull the monitor off, you will still have your pyro probe in the exhaust manifold. If you don't have a guage hooked up to it they may think something is fishy.....

I'm pretty lucky, the guys at the dealer I take my truck to now are great, in fact I was just in for something minor and the guy working on my truck asked if he could have a ride to check out my suspension.

I guess it's hit or miss with the dealers, I would never take it back to the place I bought it from, but the place close to my house is great!

I've read this before and still wonder like its been said: if I leave in the Commander the box harness is still there and I have to put in the bypass, if I take out the Commander then the pyro hole is still there.

I know the owner of the dealership here puts Edge on his truck and I asked him once about warranty and chips and he just looked at me and wouldn't answer. I can't deal with these people and buy by trucks/cars from a dealer in Vegas and they "say" chips void warranty. Crap shoot I guess.

My dealer is pretty oblivious to modding. They couldn't believe me when I told them my 03 was making over 500hp. They thought it was cool. I haven't been by there yet with the 07. My truck doesn't go there unless it absolutely has to..........

I would take it off unless you are friendly with the shop. One of my friends and as dumb as this sounds had a Holley cabuerator sticker on his truck and a Dr. P sticker from the shop he helps at adn he was turnt away cause the lady shop maneger said it (his CTD) had an aftermarket carbuetator on it. He laughed and left.

Just play it safe and take it off, some dealerships are cool and some are real *******. You never know what side of the bed they woke up on. Unless like stated above you know someone there really well do risk it. They will try to weasel out of anything they can!!!!!
