I've got an 06 QC Shortbed with moto metal wheels and procomp xtreme tires (whatever size is the biggest without a leveling kit). I just drove from denver/golden to Grand Junction and back. Had a little load on the way back. Got 18 mpg (nothing is reprogrammed for the larger tires). I think with some normal street tires i could have got closer to 19.

my last two tanks have been around 16.5 mpg in mixed driving i am going to need more than that i will look into the hub conversion as i dont 4 wheel much if ever

The dynatrac free spin hub conversion is 1800 nto counting install cost
with fuel at roughly $5 a gallon it would take me almost 60000 miles to recoup the cost of the kit if it netted me 2 mpgs

i am starting to think this is a lost cause to see any real return on investment with mods

I used to be at 16.5 to 17 with mixed driving before i started to lay off the gas a little. But yeah you really can't win. Just air up and do some coasting.
